Appearance:History:Celestic Town was one of the most rural –if not the most rural- places in Sinnoh. It had just enough technology and electricity to get by in the modern world. During any severe natural phenomena like blizzards and typhoons, most of that technology is rendered useless by power outages and the like, trapping people in their homes for the entire duration of their wrath. Unfortunately for one woman currently staying in the village, her water decided to break during a particularly nasty blizzard.
This woman managed to deliver her child after hours of labor despite only having her best friend to help her through it. Unfortunately her best friend wasn’t trained to deliver babies or even administer basic medical aid, so while the child miraculously ended up alive and kicking under his watch, the woman contracted several severe infections from the lack of sterility that accompanied the area where she gave birth as well as the hands of the person that helped her. The infections were so severe that she died in the hospital a week after giving birth, leaving behind her son and her best friend in the process.
Her best friend, David Sinclair, felt guilty because he thought he had inadvertently killed her due to his carelessness when the doctor told him her cause of death. Because of his guilt, he took in her orphaned son, named him Walter Sinclair and then raised him as her own instead of trying to give the child to the man who they had been looking for when they had come to Celestic Town: his birth father.
Walter spent most of his early childhood on the road with David, constantly getting in and out of trouble with his bluntness and his penchant for mischief once he was old enough to walk and talk. It didn’t help that he inherited his mother’s psychic powers, which tended to appear at the worst of times and make already bad situations even worse. Despite all of that though, it was a happy time for the both of them.
However, David was still secretly wracked with guilt about what he had done and often went on alcoholic binges when he wasn’t keeping Walter out of trouble. This inevitably led him to meeting archaeologist Christina Johnson, the woman who became his wife after much unintentional interference and prodding from Walter. When David married her though, she forced the both of them to settle down in Celestic Town, basically ending their adventures when Walter turned eight.
Walter’s lack of basic social skills, control over his inherited power and constant restlessness immediately became apparent a few months into their stay after the wonder of actually staying in one place for longer than a week finally wore off. It didn’t help that Christina and Walter often ended up butting heads over things like dinner or even his future. In fact, they didn’t really like each other much at all. However, they tolerated each other for David’s sake.
That all changed on Walter’s 13th birthday when he encountered the doctor who had tried to save his mother after he had been pranked by his two step-siblings, whom quickly befriended him despite David’s warnings to stay away from the guy. The doctor ended up telling Walter what he knew of the truth about his mother’s death a few months into their friendship, devastating him enough to accidentally injure David and one of his half-siblings enough to land them both in a coma because of his powers going completely out of control.
Christina was furious about what Walter did but helped him run away from home because it would keep him away from her family. What she didn’t mention was that it was also because she honestly thought it would be best for him to stay away and cool off for a while so that he didn’t do any other stupid thing.
The first place he had gone off to in his haste to leave Celestic Town was in Wayward Cave, where he met an injured Gible that he nursed back to health and befriended. This Gible soon became Walter’s first real companion after he promised the little dragon help to get much stronger while said little dragon promised to help Walter and always stay by his side.
However, fulfilling that promise got delayed as he had to constantly hide from David and the other people he sent to look for him. He spent years playing cat-and-mouse with David, outwitting him at every turn with Christina’s help. When he had reached his 16th birthday, both he and Achilles –the Gible- had gotten tired of the constant chase, so with his step-mom’s help, he changed his last name, got a new look, and moved far away to the Tobu region to start anew.
Surprisingly though, his step-mom gave him a parting gift once he had reached Tobu- a Trapnich with a good-luck and happy journey letter addressed to him from his step-mom. The surprise allowed him to start off on a good foot as he headed to Seedrow Town to start his own journey and ignore his demons, even if only for a while. Strange Perk? :Walter inherited strong psychic powers from his mother’s side of the family. However, no one ever trained him to utilize his powers properly so if he tries anything other than telepathically communicating with his own pokemon and other psychic pokemon and minor telekinetic tricks, they tend to go wild and out of his control. They also tend to go haywire whenever he gets too angry. People have been hurt before due to this.
Focusing on music tends to calm down his powers when they go out of control, strangely enough. That’s why he tends to hum or sometimes even outright sing whenever he’s mad. He’s really good at it too, so he gets more stares when he does this. My first Friend Pokemon: Gible Level: 5 Nickname: Achilles Personality:Achilles is very a very adamant pokemon. He is very independent and loves doing things his own way, often to the point that he gets very irritated when he doesn’t. He is also very aggressive and forceful with his actions, often to the point of seemingly becoming overbearing. The only person he will ever concede to is Walter himself, due to the bond they had formed. Appearence:Ability:Sand Veil – Raises the Pokemon’s evasion during a sandstorm. Moves: | |
